Basic data of the case study

The first section allows you to see on the map the location of the analysis area, the number of water intakes and treatment plants used, the currency and the discount rate.

Return on Investment and Net present value

The ROI for this example is 1.23, which indicates that the opportunity is good.

The Net Present Value chart shows the costs and benefits. Remember that the benefits refer to the savings in the water treatment system and the water intake operation and maintenance. The total bar is the difference between costs and benefits, which as we see is positive.

Current characteristics of the basin

For this case study, the indices offered by Aqueduct indicate that the risk associated with water quantity is Medium high.

This analysis is available for each water intake.

Expected changes in ecosystem services

The result of the estimated changes in the following ecosystem services is also shown, taking as a starting point what we call "Business as Usual Scenario" and it is compared with the "Nature based Solutions Scenario - NbS"

Budget to invest

Finally, you will be able to know the values that you must invest in each NbS, accompanied by the area of implementation of activities.

Geographical inquiries

The system offers different geographical outputs including the land use map under the NbS implementation scenario, and the location of activities suggested by the RiOS model, among others.
