What outputs does WaterProof provide?
Based on the inputs you provide, WaterProof details a recommended portfolio of NbS investments, associates it with an estimated level of water security benefits, generates full-lifecycle program costing, and relies on benefits monetization functions to estimate financial return. WaterProof then compares full-lifecycle costs to monetized benefits to generate estimated return on investment for the NbS portfolio.
Note that WaterProof evaluates ROI at a pre-feasibility level of detail (see ‘program development lifecycle’ section of ‘Understand the Process’ to learn more about the difference between the Pre-feasibility and Feasibility phases). In other words, WaterProof outputs are meant to provide an indicative and directional level of understanding to help practitioners decide if a deeper feasibility level of effort is warranted that relies on local data sets, bespoke hydrological models, and detailed feedback from field experts.
How can you share your results?
WaterProof provides a number of options for sharing your case study, including:

Invite users to view your case study: Each case study is associated with a unique identification ID. You can provide your case study’s associated URL to share results with other users.
What key questions does WaterProof help answer?
Important questions addressed by your WaterProof results include:
•What cost-effective NbS options exist to improve water security?
•What does the full-lifecycle program cost?
•What are the monetizable ecosystem benefits that can be generated by NbS? And when are these benefits expected to show up?
•Should certain NbS be prioritized over others?
•Who benefits from the NbS program, and to what degree?
•What carbon benefits are generated by the program?
Importantly, these questions are addressed at a prefeasibility level of detail, and further in-depth analysis that relies on appropriate hydrological models and local data sets should be used to validate these questions on a feasibility basis (i.e. to inform a watershed investment program’s specificNbS intervention portfolio).

Common use cases include setting strategic direction and generating alignment with your stakeholder group, motivating funding commitments from interested parties, and inspiring policy change to help mainstream natural infrastructure investments. Note that these actions often require a ‘feasibility’ ROI analysis to motivate counterparties (WaterProof provides a ‘pre-feasibility’ level of detail).
