Connection of elements of a catchment system in WaterProof:
WaterProof allows flexible configuration of the catchment system topology. You can make one-to-many, or many-to-one connections and the balancing algorithm will be able to perform the calculation. However, in the type of one-to-many connections, the user must check that the sum of the percentages of transported water does not exceed 100%. By default, for each infrastructure element and connection, WaterProof will pre-load a value of 100% of transported water. The user can edit this value according to the conditions of his capture system.
WaterProof allows the user to make their connections using physical elements such as pipes and channels, in addition to representing upstream and downstream relationships of infrastructure elements with connections:
- Pipes: The user can represent the elements of water conduction from the catchment site, either rigid type or flexible hoses, which are in the catchment system operating either by means of pumping and / or pumping, or by gravity, up to a storage tank.
- Channels: By means of this element the user can symbolize the structures used to collect the captured water and lead it to the downpipes, avoiding the pooling of water. It is essential to bear in mind that they are structures whose flow is not transported under pressure, therefore the initial level of the conduit is greater than the final level.
- Connection: Through this element the user can symbolize that two infrastructure elements are connected without explicitly indicating that it corresponds to a pipe or channel type element. It allows to represent the the upstream and downstream connection, for example in the case of river bottom intake, where there is no pipe or channel connecting them, but their topological connection relationship needs to be symbolized.
Connection - Extraction: Through this element the user symbolizes that two infrastructure elements are connected, but additionally it is a special element from which the amount of transported water is considered equal to the amount of extracted water defined by the time series system wizard. It is a special connection in which it is indicated that from this element the extraction of water from the analysis water system is carried out.
