Cost function for sludge drying beds:
The cost function for the drying beds is a function of the load of solids that are retained in the plant settler. This article presents how to arrive at the final equation.

The cost function for the band filter is based on the load of solids that are retained in the plant settler. This article presents how to reach the final equation.
Show moreCost Function for Plant Buildings Maintenance:
The cost function for building maintenance is based on the flow of the plant, in addition to the nitrogen and sediment concentrations present at the entrance of the plant. This article presents how to reach the final equation.
Show moreRegional Factors:
The cost functions for the operation and maintenance of the aqueduct systems have been obtained from studies carried out in the United States of America. In order to establish the equivalence of these costs with those handled in other countries and regions, the use of a “Regional Factor” is proposed, the estimation of which is explained below. Two methodologies are used; the first is based on the comparison of water costs, using the information contained in the IBNET database of the World Bank, called “Methodology A”; and the second, using the database of the ICP initiative, also from the World Bank, called “Methodology B”. To obtain the equivalent value, the cost calculated for a certain item must be multiplied by this regional factor.
