The following describes the sections of the reports area. To access them, you must visit the list of Use Cases or click on the link "My case studies”.

Basic data of the case study

The first section allows you to view on the map the location of the analysis area, the level of detail of the DEM, the currency, and the discount rate.

Return on Investment (ROI) and Net Present Value (NPV)

The ROI for this example is 0.84, which indicates that the opportunity is low. The chart shows the costs and the benefits. Remember that the benefits refer to the savings from avoided damages. The Total bar represents the difference between costs and benefits, which as we can see is positive.

Current watershed characteristics

For this Case Study, the indices provided by Aqueduct indicate that the risk related to water quantity is Medium High.

Expected changes in ecosystem services

The results of the estimated changes in ecosystem services are also shown, taking as a starting point what we call the “Traditional activities scenario” and comparing it with the “Scenario with nature-based solutions”.

Budget to invest

Finally, you will be able to see the amounts that must be invested in each NbS, along with the area of activity implementation.

Histograma

The system provides this hydrograph, which allows you to see the variation of water discharge in the watershed over time. The three lines represent different scenarios: Current watershed conditions, BAU (Business As Usual) showing the flow without implementing solutions, and NbS (Nature-based Solutions) to identify how their implementation can reduce and regulate discharge, contributing to flood mitigation.

Geographic queries

The system provides different geographic outputs, including the land use map under the NbS implementation scenario, and the activity location map suggested by the RiOS model, among others.
